The veneer, loose on slats, is used as
deck flooring for ships of the later period (iron fleet). Maple veneer has a
smooth light texture, clean and even texture. It has normal absorbent
properties and can be painted, varnished, oil or waxed, and the light color
will not prevent you from forming the desired tone and shade.
